Power Up Connect's launch of the MBESS 90 kWh mobile battery storage system marks a significant advancement in portable energy solutions, addressing the growing demand for reliable power sources in remote or underserved areas. Developed in collaboration with Dominion Energy, this innovative system was unveiled at CES 2025 and is now commercially available. With a maximum output of 30 kW and weighing under 5,000 lbs, the MBESS can be easily towed by mid-sized SUVs, making it a versatile option for various applications. Its UL9540 and UL9540A certifications ensure safety and compliance, allowing for deployment in public settings, which is crucial for corporate customers seeking dependable energy solutions.

The MBESS 90 kWh is designed to meet stringent safety and reliability standards, with features that include 1.1 kW of solar panels and the capability to expand to 15 kW for off-grid use. Users can daisy chain up to 10 units for a total capacity of 900 kWh, enabling it to power a wide range of devices from standard appliances to electric vehicles. This system not only fills a critical gap in mobile energy solutions but also sets a new benchmark in the industry, as highlighted by project director Mwamburi Mkaya.
