Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET) has taken a significant step in advancing Malaysia's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure by launching its first standalone DC charging station in Tanjung Malim. This facility, strategically located at the administration building, features four charging bays with a total output of 120 kW, designed to accommodate all EV brands. By obtaining an ST EVCS licence, PRO-NET aims to foster a more inclusive environment for EV adoption across the country, addressing the critical need for accessible charging solutions as the market for electric vehicles continues to expand.
The charging hub not only simplifies the user experience by allowing customers to operate and pay via a QR code but also offers competitive pricing at RM0.80 per kWh, with a promotional rate of RM0.40 per kWh for October. This initiative reflects PRO-NET's commitment to enhancing the EV ecosystem in Malaysia, making electric vehicle ownership more attractive and feasible for a broader audience. By prioritizing affordability and ease of use, PRO-NET is positioning itself as a key player in the transition towards sustainable transportation in the region.
